Marks’ Basic Medical Biochemistry PDF contains good pictures, and most explanations are pretty straightforward. Some calculations, such as the section on acids and bases early in the PDF, assume the reader has just completed a course in pre-college algebra and could have been simplified.
Some concepts, such as the very overdone-for-beginners-in-Biochemistry Lehninger, were better explained in Marks than elsewhere. That book was a waste of money! This latest edition of Marks’ Basic Medical Biochemistry PDF will not be a waste of money. There are numerous clarifying illustrations and explanations for those new to medical biochemistry.
