Feigin and Cherry’s Textbook of Pediatric Book Description
The first edition of Feigin and Cherry’s Textbook of Pediatric Infectious Diseases [PDF] was written because of Drs. Feigin and Cherry and many of their colleagues were worried that there was no single reference text that covered all infectious diseases in children and teens.
The goal of each new edition, including this one, has been to cover all topics important to studying infectious diseases in children.
Serious students of the subject would have a hard time summarizing what we know about infectious diseases right now. In many areas, new information keeps coming out so quickly that things become outdated before they can be included in a book of this size.
Still, the editors and authors of this edition worked hard to make it the most complete and up-to-date discussion of pediatric infectious diseases ever put together.
This eighth edition’s text has been changed a lot all over.
Even though we only added new references to the print edition, the seventh edition was almost 4000 pages long. This is close to the most that can be put in a two-volume book.
This edition follows the pattern set by the fourth edition. Infections caused by specific microorganisms have been organized to put the right amount of emphasis on the features that may connect different microorganisms.
